Weehawken Township School District is a PreK - 12 school district located in Hudson County, NJ. We educate 1,300 students in three school buildings and operate a $30 million annual budget. The Business Office is currently accepting applications for the position of an Assistant Business Administrator / Assistant to the Business Administrator.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Business Administrator and Superintendent, assist the Business Administrator in managing and directing various Business Office operations by performing accounting, payroll, banking, auditing, human resource, and financial management tasks. Qualifications:

School Business Administrator Certificate of Eligibility (considered Assistant Business Administrator) OR Bachelor's Degree or similar years of experience (considered Assistant to the Business Administrator)
NJ public schools experience strongly preferred
Genesis / SchoolFi Payroll and Personnel software experience preferred.
Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code and GAAP requirements
Knowledge of accepted business practices, laws and regulations governing school districts related to budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations and facility planning, or is willing and able to study and attend training to gain this knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft and Google Applications.
Minimum experience as determined by the board
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
