Job Overview:

You’ll be the Construction Project Superintendent; we’re looking for if you’re a highly skilled and experienced professional eager to lead and manage construction projects from start to finish. You’ll be passionate about helping a growing business thrive. You’ll describe yourself as dependable, consistent, and methodical in your approach to systems and communication. You’ll enjoy leading a team of subcontractors and are able to make quick educated decisions to keep the project on track. You’ll bring your strong background in construction oversight, innovative solutions, and management skills to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget, all while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction

  • Review and understand owner contract’s scope of work and assist Estimator with oversight of contract documents and proposal preparation.
  • Build a project schedule with project manager and coordinate input into BuilderTrend within 7 days of obtaining bid documents.
  • Ensure project sites have permit documents, working set of drawings, safety items, and proper signage
  • Project mobilization (temp toilets, dumpsters, temp utilities, etc.)
  • Review any long lead items (anything longer than 4- 6 weeks) and ensure the pre-construction manager has ordered them.
  • Review subcontract scopes of work and provide feedback to PM within 24 hours. PM to provide after Subcontractor has been selected and Purchase Order executed in BuilderTrend.

Construction

  • Manage day-to-day operations of construction sites, coordinating with misc. subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Jobsite layouts (building, windows, doors, tile etc)
  • Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, architects, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, and encouraging collaborative discussions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation; Ensure ‘daily logs’ are completed for each project.
  • Pre inspection walk throughs to ensure work is complete to avoid schedule delays
  • Schedule inspections and meet all inspectors on site.
  • Manage and update 3 week look ahead document for morning meeting. Update every week.
  • Documenting as-built conditions weekly on project drawings in the field.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules weekly.
  • Persuasive acceleration of subcontractors schedules when possible, ensuring timely completion of all phases of construction.
  • Coordinate with project manager for ordering material (if required).
  • Monitor project budgets with the Project Manager, track expenses, work through subcontractor change orders, and implement cost-control measures to ensure profitability
  • Ensure that all work meets quality standards and adheres to project contract documents.
  • Identify potential issues and implement solutions promptly to minimize disruptions and delays. You will create innovative solutions that aligns with least costly and timely solution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field experience(preferred).
  • Minimum [15 years] of experience in construction supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software (BuilderTrend or Similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to create, develop, and update project schedules weekly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
