Position: Sanitation Technician

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 /hourly

Location: Lodi, CA

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pm

Job Description:

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for all cleaning activities necessary for the cleanliness throughout the winery facility. This may include but is not limited to production lines, production equipment, and other facility areas according to the Master Sanitation Schedule. The Sanitation Technician will report to the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements.
• Participate in Blood borne Pathogens and chemical cleanup programs.
• Responsible for food and employee safety as well as meeting all regulatory requirements for both.
• Perform general cleaning throughout the winery including but not limited to wine lines, wine tanks, interior and exterior, buildings, equipment, floors and general housekeeping.
• Clean and sanitize wine tanks, filters, presses, wine lines, wine hoses, floors, walls and ceilings, and other equipment as directed.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment using the correct tools and following proper procedures to prevent equipment damage and to ensure the equipment is cleaned properly.
• Provide suggestions to improve processes and procedures in support of company goals.
• Adhere to all requirements to maintain a safe workplace including wearing the necessary protective equipment (PPE).
• Monitor inventories of sanitation equipment and chemicals, and report low stock to the General Manager.
• Learn and execute common food handling safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• 1+ year of sanitation experience; Industrial food, beverage manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work at heights, pressure washing, chemical handling, cleaning tools, brushes, brooms, squeegees. Operating forklift, scissor lift and boom lifts.
• Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
• Effective communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer literacy skills and the ability to update facility maintenance systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed.
• HazMat certification is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED.
