The Show Set Design role will be focused on the overall design and development of theme parks and themed environments. This position entails a variety of immersive spaces including guest interactives, themed features, attractions, show sets, props, queues, F&B, retail, and common guest areas. The Show set designer will have proven experience in the management and the creative development of themed entertainment/hospitality projects.
Show set designers will be responsible for creating conceptual designs, then further developing those designs into the next design phases, organizing show set design packages in addition
to following program and budget requirements. Designer has experience in thematically and knowledgeably integrating and coordinating with other disciplines including technical and operational requirements, structural facility and engineering, plumbing, HVAC, media, lighting, A/V, special effects, props, scenic elements, animations etc. Able to develop and understand POV's and sightline studies, a general knowledge of thematic fabrication and installation methods, while developing solutions. A general working knowledge of themed fabrication and installation methods is required.
Essential Functions: - Ability to hand sketch concepts, and fully design elevations, plans and details via 2D/3D software.
- Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking, has problem-solving skills, and can pay close attention to detail.
- Other deliverables may include creating white models, 3D Renders, colorboards, key art, storyboarding or quick spatial illustrations.
- Designers will be able to research and provide scenic finish applications, and thematic materials, in addition to providing innovative design solutions.
- Knowledge and application of a wide range of building codes, regulations, building systems, facility integration, safety & fire/egress.
- Exhibits daily discipline and time management skills towards meeting deadlines.
- Have a basic understanding and awareness of throughput, guest capacities, queuing etc.
- Collaborate with Interior designers to create functionally safe spaces that meet program requirements, space allocation, operations, and functionality. As well as the integration of fixtures, furniture and equipment into the designs as needed.
- Participate in design charrettes, IP/client reviews and presentations, VE/reductions, scheduling, picking up redlines/design review sessions, and collaborates directly with vendors or other disciplines.
- Show set design positions are non-routine and candidates should be able to adapt to changes and direction quickly and may be provided with opportunities to work on a myriad of projects. Candidates enjoy working in a studio team environment and are able to effectively and openly communicate with others.
- Ability to provide mathematical figures, costs and take-offs, square footage, linear feet, percentages, ratios, or other calculations as needed.
- Candidates enjoy working in a studio team environment and can interact well with others while working on large group projects. Can effectively and openly communicate with others.

Job Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's degree in Art, Design, Themed Entertainment, Theater, or Interior Design. A combination of experience and education will also be considered.
- Minimum 2-5 years of theme park development, theatrical experience, and or hospitality related design. *Theme Park development and design package experience preferred.
- Strong portfolio of theme-park, or theatrical work required.
- Preferred software knowledge includes strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCad, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Suite. Working knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign, 3DsMax, SketchUp, and 3D rendering in general is a plus.
