About the Role

The Company is in search of a Managing Director for Public Affairs, a pivotal senior leadership role dedicated to advancing the use of evidence in the fields of education, health, and workforce development. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing the company's strategic interests both nationally and internationally, with a focus on maintaining a deep understanding of federal and state policies, processes, and key stakeholders. This role involves leading a team of public affairs staff, designing and implementing a comprehensive public affairs strategy, and working closely with senior leadership to influence decision-makers and promote evidence-based practices. The Managing Director will also be tasked with thought leadership initiatives, strategic communication, and fostering partnerships to enhance the company's reputation as a trusted source of information. Applicants for the Managing Director position should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree with 10-15 years' of professional experience, including at least 5 years' in a managerial role. A background in public policy is essential, with experience in key opinion leader engagement, government outreach, and a deep network of influencers. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to translate complex research into accessible language, and a proven track record of influencing and engaging stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with excellent project management and staff supervision skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools is necessary, and the ability to travel as needed.
