Summary

Service Plumbers are responsible for troubleshooting, installations, repairs, and maintenance of residential plumbing mechanisms while providing top-notch customer service. Duties include finding the source of leaks and blockages, fixing or replacing broken parts, testing plumbing systems and the ability to provide recommendations to customers. Essential Functions

  • Install, diagnose, maintain and repair residential and some commercial plumbing including but not limited to domestic water piping, house lines, interior and exterior waste lines, water regulators and back flow, water heaters, interior and exterior gas lines and all fixtures relating to bathroom, kitchen and laundry.
  • Inspect previously installed plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites
  • Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems a company installs and maintains
  • Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections
  • Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer
  • Establish and foster client relationships through strong communication and customer service providing the ability to fully explain to customer what the issues are and their options for repair (when applicable)
  • Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturers’ recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issues are and their options for repair (when applicable)
  • Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary
  • Maintain good working order of Company vehicle and maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Understand Company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoices at job site
  • Inform customers of potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services)
  • Participate in Company-provided training and comply with all code regulations
  • Adhere to all Company safety rules including all traffic and safety regulations while operating company vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a residential Service Plumber
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid Georgia Journeyman or Master Plumbing License required
  • Residential service & repair experience (diagnosing & troubleshooting a normal plumbing system)
  • Leak Location and Repair, a plus
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability work in hot, cold, wet climates depending on the weather
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a strong desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Results driven in a high-energy environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Must pass MVR screening and maintain a good driving record
  • Must be able to follow directions and work independently
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English

Physical Activities & Requirements

  • Physical Strength: Walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping, reaching (including overhead), climbing ladders/stairs and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Environment: Work in varying temperatures including non-climate-controlled areas occasionally with extreme temperatures
  • Schedule: Must be available to work nights and weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers
  • Visual Abilities: Must be able to correctly differentiate between colors
  • Other: Must be proficient in the use of smart phones, tablets, and other mobile devices
